In 1976 there was an attempt to standardize the plates through out
the Emirates. All but Dubai conformed.
The plates are sectioned into four areas .On the left bottom
side of the plate is U.A.E. on top of the Emirate code. On the lower
right is a western serial of up to 5 digtis. The top two sections are the
Arabic equivelant.
